To conclude the morning, Pablo de Ola- vide University professor Manuel Torres gave a master class entitled "Evolution and trends in terrorism in Spain: special areas and the internet." Professor Torres explained how terrorist groups, with a special focus on jihadism, have adapted their communication strategies as tech- nology has developed elements such as websites and social networks, to mention the most prominent cases, and what the future situation will be in light of advanc- es in artificial intelligence. The second part of the day was marked by the round table discussion "The victims' story". On this occasion, this part of the Youth Meeting was divided into two ses- sions, bringing together the testimonies of adults and young people so that attendees could learn first-hand about the tragedy of terrorism, as well as its impact on family life, regardless of generation, and the cur- rent social context. The first round table featured Koldo San Martín, a Civil Guard officer and son of José San Martín, a Civil Guard officer murdered by ETA in 1992, and Teresa Jiménez-Becerril, deputy to the Ombudsman and sister of Alberto Jimén- ez-Becerril. "As long as the younger gener- ations defend memory, dignity and justice, we victims are not alone." Next, it was the turn of David Caballero, grandson of the assassinated politician Tomás Caballero, and Almudena Chiesa, niece of Alberto Jiménez-Becerril and As- censión García. Although both were young when their relatives lost their lives in the attacks, they grew up in families marked by the injustice of terrorism, providing a per- sonal perspective to the event participants. Thanks to all these testimonies, the young people learned about an essential period in Spain's recent history and its current impact, reflecting on it in the working groups that concluded the day. In a tol- erant space for debate, everyone shared their ideas to lay the foundations for building a democratic, free and responsi- ble society, far removed from the mistakes of the past that have affected so many hu- man lives.
