50 a firm civic commitment against every form of violence, radicalisation or hate speech. To achieve this, the agreement establi- shes an approach based on human im- pact and direct learning. During its im- plementation, the project will bring real testimonies and first-hand experiences into Loyola University’s classrooms. Two key groups will participate actively: vic- tims of terrorism, who will recount their experiences and give the consequences of violence a human face; and counter-te- rrorism specialists, who will offer techni- cal and institutional perspectives on the collective effort to protect the rule of law and freedoms. The agreement consolidates the close cooperation already existing between the two organisations. Loyola University has previously hosted Foundation initia- tives, including the “Words of Freedom” lecture series. Conceived to teach young people about terrorism’s consequences in Spain, these sessions allowed the Foun- dation’s President, Alberto Jiménez-Be- cerril, to share with students the per- sonal story of his parents, Alberto and Ascen, and the impact of their murder on his family’s future. Later sessions in the same series on cam- pus featured María del Mar Blanco, Cris- tina Cuesta, José Manuel Sánchez and Teresa Jiménez-Becerril, who stressed ALBERTO JIMÉNEZ BECERRILL FOUNDATION ASSOCIATIONS AND FOUNDATIONS the importance of remembering tho- se who suffered terrorist violence and preventing those injustices from being forgotten. These activities have long in- volved Loyola’s teaching staff, notably lecturers such as Pedro Rivas, who has examined the context of victims and violence academically. The university has also raised awareness through exhi- bitions such as Fotógrafos por la libertad y la Paz . By institutionalising this relationship through the new agreement, the Alberto Jiménez-Becerril Foundation and Loyola University provide a formal, stable chan- nel for continuing education through re- membrance. This ensures that the sacri- fice of all victims of terrorism becomes a powerful educational resource, helping shape citizens and future professionals firmly committed to freedom, justice and human dignity. The central aim of this new framework is to promote democratic values, the unwavering defence of human rights and respect for diversity among new generations
