This amount was used to as- sist victims during 2025. In the call for proposals published for 2025, to be implemented in 2026, a grant of € 36,509.60 has once again been awarded. THE BASQUE COUNTRY AND THE OF MADRID, FIRM COMMITMENT TO THE FOUNDATION The Basque Government, through an Or- der of the Regional Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, renewed its financial co- llaboration with the Foundation in 2025, increasing its contribution compared to the previous year. The non-nominative grant amounted to € 64,000 , earmarked for projects that promote democratic values, human rights, plurality and civil liberties. Among the initiatives funded are the victim support system, the Fundación magazine and activities to raise awareness and pre- vent radicalism, both academic and exhi- bition-based. In the academic field, two courses were organised at the University of the Basque Country: - "Putting yourself in the shoes of the vic- tims of terrorism" (3 and 4 July), in co- llaboration with the Memorial Centre, addressing the representation of ETA in audiovisual fiction and real testimonies. - “Teaching about terrorism. Research and applications in the classroom” (10 Septem- ber), focusing on educational resources for secondary schools and universities. In terms of exhibition activities, Bilbao hosted the travelling exhibition "The 11 March attacks. Memory of pain and soli- darity", which covers the attacks inMadrid and their social impact. Work is already underway to move it to San Sebastián in January 2026. For its part, the Madrid regional govern- ment, after resolving the call for grants for 2025 aimed at non-profit organisations working to assist victims of terrorism — announced by Order of the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Local Admi- nistration on 16 June 2025 — allocated € 56,511.36 in financial resources to the Victims of Terrorism Foundation. This contribution is intended to support the Foundation's work in raising awareness and defending the memory of victims, as well as disseminating this information through the Fundación magazine and other social initiatives. VALENCIAN COMMUNITY, LA RIOJA AND CASTILE AND LEÓN RENEW THEIR SUPPORT Also in 2025, the Valencian Regional Government, through the Regional Mi- nistry of Justice and Public Administra- tion, renewed its collaboration with the Victims of Terrorism Foundation for the promotion and development of activities in support of victims. This aid is part of the Foundation's annual programme of projects and includes actions in the Va- lencian Community such as information and social awareness activities, comme- morative and tribute events, as well as as- sistance and support programmes aimed at victims and their families. This is an annual agreement worth € 20,000 for 2025, based on Law 1/2004, of 24 May, of the Valencian Regional Go- vernment on Aid to Victims of Terrorism, whose Article 13 establishes the possibility NEWS
