59 Andrés Pueyo (The Mind of Terrorist: diversity, psychopathology and preven- tion); José Lázaro, professor of Medi- cal Humanities (The core of terrorist violence); and Maite Pagazaurtundua Ruiz, former MEP and former president of the Victims of Terrorism Foundation (Humanity and inhumanity). The second panel was devoted to "The Keys to Terrorism", in which the victims of terrorism were given the floor first through Luis Heredero Ortiz de la Tabla (The Victims of Terrorism. Dignity and Recognition), which was complemented by the views of journalists Miguel Ángel Idígoras Urrezola (Terrorism as a Media Phenomenon. Reporting on Terrorism) and Kepa Aulestia Urrutia (Ideology and Terrorism). The theoretical approach was comple- mented by a third panel, "A prospective view of terrorism", specifically address- ing how terrorism relates to food secu- rity, with a presentation by José María Samaniego Pérez, and to Artificial In- telligence, as explained by the President of the Choiseul Institute, Eduardo Oier Arenas. The analysis of terrorist practices shaped the fourth panel of the con- ference, entitled "Experiences," which included presentations by journalist Pilar Requena del Rio (Germany), re- tired Army Colonel José Miguel Palacios (Russia), and University of the Basque Country professor Francisco Javier Lle- ra Ramo (Spain). And also from a highly practical point of view, the fifth panel, "Dialogue, Jus- tice and Conflict", was devoted to the Syrian conflict, on which Ignacio Álva- rez-Ossorio Alvariño, professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, is very knowledgeable; the Sahel as the ep- icentre of jihadism in West Africa, with a presentation by Army Colonel Pedro Sánchez Herráez; and the conflict in South Sudan, through Carlos Castresa- na Fernández, a member of that coun- try's Human Rights Commission. In short, once again we have sought to present a multidisciplinary view of a phenomenon as complex and, unfor- tunately, as difficult to eradicate as ter- rorism. For anyone interested in these issues, the entire video recording of the conference is available on our YouTube channel and in the video library on our website www.fundacionmgime-neza- bad.es, where you can also find all the documentary information provided by the speakers. generated by the attacks, the subjective dynamics. Furthermore, in these matters, we must evaluate not only our own past expe- rience, but also that of third parties who can serve as examples. It is also worth exploring the status of conflicts that have been significantly active in 2025, and it is interesting to see how cross-cutting elements such as inter- faith dialogue can contribute to their resolution. The Manuel Giménez Abad Founda- tion, in collaboration with the Spanish Institute for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Defence, has dedicated the annual conference that analyses the phenomenon of terrorism, coordinated by Commander Federico Aznar Fernán- dez-Montesinos, to all these aspects, which are so different but interrelated. In this case, the conference was entitled "Terrorism as a geopolitical phenome- non". Once again, the conference was sponsored by the Victims of Terrorism Foundation, to whom we express our gratitude. The conference was organised into five panels, the first three providing a theo- retical approach to terrorism, with the remaining two focusing on the practice of terrorism as a geopolitical phenom- enon. The first panel, "The Roots of Terrorist Violence", featured three presentations by Professor of Psychology Antonio ASSOCIATIONS AND FOUNDATIONS
