56 SENATOR AND TRUSTEE OF THE TOMÁS CABALLERO FOUNDATION MARÍA CABALLERO CALLS FOR ACTION AGAINST THE GLORIFICATION OF TERRORISM AND THE PUBLIC HUMILIATION OF VICTIMS TOMÁS CABALLERO FUNDATION Spain’s Senate has taken up a bill aimed at strengthening the prevention and ad- ministrative punishment of public acts that glorify terrorism and humiliate its victims. The plenary session of the Senate on Wednesday, April 8, debated whether to take up a bill to amend Law 29/2011 on the recognition and comprehensive protection of victims of terrorism. Intro- duced by the People's Party, the proposal seeks to strengthen the prevention and punishment of acts that glorify, praise or pay tribute to terrorism and those re- sponsible for it. The bill was accepted for further consid- eration after no alternative initiative was submitted and after securing majority support in the upper chamber.
