EDUCATION AND COEXISTENCE 32 BALANCE OF THE VALENCIA TRAINING COURSE 2025/2026 school year THE TESTIMONY OF VICTIMS OF TERRORISM HAS REACHED MORE THAN 3,100 STUDENTS IN THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY The Victims of Terrorism Foundation actively participated in the organization and development of the fourth edition of the teacher training conference "Pedago- gy and Memory in the Face of Terrorism," held online during the final quarter of 2025. The initiative was carried out in cooperation with the Deputy Directora- te-General for Teacher Training of the Department of Education, Culture, and Universities, the Department of Justice, Transparency, and Participation of the Generalitat Valenciana, and the Memo- rial Center for Victims of Terrorism, wi- thin the framework of the Memory and Prevention of Terrorism Program in the Valencian Community. The training, lasting a total of 12 hours, aimed to provide teachers with concep- tual, pedagogical, and didactic tools to address terrorism in the classroom from an educational perspective. The approach focused on delegitimizing violence, defen- ding democratic values and human rights, and making victims of terrorism visible as ethical references and fundamental agents of memory and coexistence. The sessions were aimed at teachers of secondary education and baccalaureate, from the first year of ESO through the second year of Bachillerato, and were structured in four online sessions. Pre- sentations were given by recognized specialists — Florencio Domínguez Irí- barren, Tomás Santamaría Agudo, Raul López Romo, Enrique Jiménez, Manuel Moyano, Ana Iríbar, and Cristina Cues- ta Gorostidi — and combined historical and social analysis of terrorism with pe- dagogical reflection on how it should be addressed in education. Direct testimony by victims once again occupied a central place as the backbone of the program. The main new feature compared with previous editions was the inclusion of an additional module in which one school from each province shared its experience of participating in the program, and in which victim-educator Ana Iríbar offered testimony on the educational and perso- nal impact of her work in classrooms. The training was completed through a virtual platform in AULES, where tea- chers were able to access teaching ma- terials, presentations, recordings of ses- sions, and educational units. This space remained open throughout the school year, providing continued access to re- sources. Regarding participation, 68 registrations were recorded, mostly among secondary and baccalaureate teachers, of whom 44 obtained training certification. Attendan- ce remained high and sustained throu- ghout the four sessions, with participa- tion rates above 80% in three of them and a slight decline in the third, followed by an increase in the final session devo- ted to the Valencian model. These data reflect a high level of commitment, espe-
