61 AESVITE ASSOCIATION Six months of growth, TRIBUTE AND COMMITMENT TO VICTIMS IN MADRID AND GALICIA A ESVITE (the Spanish Association of Victims of Terrorism) completed an intensive first half of 2026, streng- thening its presence in both the Community of Madrid and Galicia. Our main objective remains comprehensive support for victims, with particular attention to those from the security forces and armed forces, and close cooperation with institutions to ensure spe- cialised care. President Javier Porras Gómez receives the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Isabella the Catholic for his work on behalf of interna- tional victims. Below, we summarise the main milestones in our work during these months: 1. CONSOLIDATION AND LAUNCH OF ACTIVITIES IN GALICIA (2019–2026) Since our founding in Galicia in 2019, AES- VITE has worked tirelessly to promote acti- vities in the region. Growing demand from victims, particularly former members of the security forces, has led us to expand our network of external collaborators to offer specialised medical and psychological treat- ment, a challenge we have embraced with the utmost commitment. 2.INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING IN MADRID (MARCH–JUNE 2026) In March, we held key working meetings with the Deputy Minister of Justice and the Deputy Director of the Community of Ma- drid’s Commissioner’s Office. We presented our projects and activities focused on su- pporting victims covered by the Community of Madrid’s Victims Act. This commitment was reaffirmed on 23 March through our participation in the launch of the “Victims of Terrorism Tes- timony Series in Primary and Secondary Schools” in Madrid. The event was atten- ded by the Minister of the Presidency, Mi- guel Ángel García Martín; Deputy Minister ASSOCIATIONS AND FOUNDATIONS
