FUNDACIÓN VÍCTIMAS DEL TERRORISMO 93 - ENGLISH

5 EDITORIAL NOTE JUAN BENITO VALENCIANO President of the Victims of Terrorism Foundation This was also the case in 2025 with the exhibition El Descanso. 40 Years Since the First Massive Jihadist Attack in Spain, first displayed at the Govern- ment Delegation in Madrid to coincide with the 40th anniversary of that brutal attack, which caused 18 fatalities, and then visited the cities of Ávila, Utiel (Valencia) and again Madrid, in the exhibition hall of the Gloria Fuertes Cultural Centre in the Barajas district (Madrid). This line of work will continue in 2026 with the design and production of an exhibition In Memoriam for the twelve Civil Guard officers killed in an ETA at- tack in Madrid's Plaza de la República Dominicana on 14 July 1986, extended to all members of the Civil Guard who have suffered the scourge of terrorism. The last quarter has also been marked by educational activities in collabora- tion with different regional govern- ments. We would like to highlight the IV Jornada Contar el Terror (4th Con- ference on Telling the Story of Terror) at the University of Navarra, this time under the title Territories of Memory, a space for reflection and analysis that concluded with the screening of the film Un fantasma en la batalla (Netflix), fol- lowed by a discussion with its director, Agustín Díaz Yanes, as was the case in 2024 with Arantxa Echevarría, director of La infiltrada . I would like to conclude by wishing all victims of terrorism, and by extension society as a whole, a Happy and Pros- perous 2026.
