64 SUPPORT PLATFORM ASSOCIATION FOR VICTIMS OF TERRORISM APAVT RENEWS IN 2026 ITS SOCIAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT PROGRAM FOR VICTIMS OF TERRORISM T he Support Platform Association for Victims of Terrorism (APAVT) renewed in 2026 its social inter- vention and temporary economic assistan- ce program for victims of terrorism and their families in situations of vulnerability. The work carried out by APAVT's social area combines individualized social care, ongoing support, and coordination with public resources and third-sector entities. Through this service, the social, family, economic, and health needs of each case are assessed, victims are guided toward appropriate resources, and personalized follow-up is carried out to detect new needs and prevent situations of social exclusion. Within this program, APAVT continues to assess nonrecurring financial assistance intended to cover specific and exceptio- nal situations related to subsistence, cu- rrent expenses, or housing when no other resources are available. These grants are awarded after individualized social and documentary assessment and reports pre- pared by the entity's social worker. The association also continues the coo- peration agreement begun in 2021 with Mercadona S.A., which allows part of this assistance to be managed through social cards for the purchase of basic necessities. With the renewal of this program in 2026, APAVT reaffirms its commitment to social support, guidance, and protec- tion for victims of terrorism who are ex- periencing situations of particular econo- mic or social difficulty.
