FUNDACIÓN VÍCTIMAS DEL TERRORISMO 95 - ENGLISH

65 participated in the meeting together with Alejandro Canonico, director of the Institute of Good Governance and Democratic Quality at Villanueva Uni- versity. The conference brought together professionals, academic representatives, and members of civil society to reflect on the essential role played by the family environment in recovery and support processes for victims of violence. The event emphasized that the conse- quences of terrorism go beyond the di- rect victim and deeply affect the closest environment. In this regard, the family was highlighted as the first space for emotional support, stability, and gui- dance in the most difficult moments, as well as a fundamental element in processes of personal and social recons- truction. APAVT's participation made it possible to convey the association's accumulated experience in caring for and accompan- ying victims of terrorism, underscoring the need to maintain a solid support ne- twork that combines professional care with family and social support. The importance of preserving the memory of victims and promoting a culture of solidarity and commitment that helps prevent forgetting was also stressed. The conference also served to streng- then cooperation between the univer- sity sphere and victim support organi- zations, promoting spaces for reflection and dialogue on the challenges still fa- ced by those who have suffered terrorist violence and their families. Through its participation in this mee- ting, APAVT reaffirms its commitment to defending the rights of victims of te- rrorism, raising social awareness, and recognizing the irreplaceable role fami- lies play in processes of support, reco- very, and the construction of a society more committed to memory, dignity, truth, and justice.
