FUNDACIÓN VÍCTIMAS DEL TERRORISMO 95 - ENGLISH
9 NEWS The Real Madrid Foundation and the Victims of Terrorism Foundation have re- newed, for the seventh consecutive year, their cooperation agreement, a one-year arrangement that consolidates a strategic alliance serving minors and the values of sport. The agreement may be extended, with the prior agreement of the parties, for up to four years. The Victims of Terrorism Foundation em- phasizes that this agreement "enables mi- nors who are victims of terrorism to take part in activities organized by the presti- gious schools developed under the Real Madrid brand," access that goes beyond sport and becomes a tool for integration, emotional support, and personal growth. The Real Madrid Foundation's socio-sports schools aim to offer children and adoles- cents, regardless of their circumstances or abilities, comprehensive education through sport on equal terms. In this setting, soccer and basketball become vehicles for insti- lling fundamental values such as respect, camaraderie, effort, and self-improvement, while also encouraging a healthy lifestyle and positive use of free time. The program is structured in different age categories, covering participants from age 5 (born in 2021) to age 17 (born in 2009). In total, nearly fifty soccer and basketball schools are located across the city of Ma- drid, the Community of Madrid, and other regions of Spain —Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, the Region of Murcia, Asturias, Extremadura, and Ceuta — expanding its territorial reach and social impact. AGREEMENT WITH REAL MADRID RENEWED Training sessions will begin in October 2026 and run through June 2027. Soc- cer sessions will be held twice a week and last an hour and a half, while bas- ketball sessions will last one hour. Mi- nors receiving scholarships undertake to attend regularly throughout the 2026- 2027 school year, ensuring continuity in the training process. Thanks to this agreement, which provi- des for a maximum of 30 scholarships, minors who are victims of terrorism have taken part in these activities sin- ce the 2019-2020 season. Since then, the program has shown sustained growth: thirteen beneficiaries in its first year — the same figure recorded in the 2025-2026 season — seventeen in 2020-2021, eighteen in 2021-2022, twenty-two in 2022-2023, and twen- ty-five in 2024-2025. This gradual growth reflects not only increased demand but also the high de- gree of loyalty among participants and their families, as well as the value the- se scholarships represent as a space for coexistence, learning, and support. This reality reaffirms the commitment of both foundations to inclusion, memory, and the future of minors, placing sport at the service of a more cohesive and suppor- tive society.
